Tea for four

Photo : Filipa Moreira da Cruz

Deep blue sky
Mysterious sea
Thick sand
Invigorating breeze
My hair is a mess
And so is my life
Upside down
Empty chairs
Empty heart
I see my town
From the other side
I’m an outsider
Until when?
If only I knew…
Meanwhile, take a seat
The water is boiling
Life is always better
After a cup of tea.

  1. Wonderful poem, Filipa! Poignant and beautiful. the photo brought back a flood of beautiful memories of sitting at an identical table in Ocean City Maryland in the early nineties. I cracked blue crabs for my late husband and me for many hours, chatting and looking out over the Atlantic Ocean. (My husband was paralyzed from the neck down, so couldn’t crack his own crabs or feed himself.)
