A poem by Amber and Filipa

Travelling through a picture, a book, a song or a poem
Your friends experiences igniting the fire in your dreams, sending an omen
Travelling and expanding the horizons of the infinite multitudes of mind worldly manifestations
Travelling with your eyes wide open or perfectly closed
Travelling around the world
Or without leaving your place
The imagination has it’s own space
Bridged, connected
No dead-ends or frontiers
Travelling with no luggage at all
Or prepared for an adventure, survival gear, tools
Having the starry sky as a roof
And the soft grass as a bed
Finding ways around financial balances instead
Travelling alone or in good company
By car, by train, by plane, on foot
Or even in a colourful balloon
Travelling from Kenya to Alaska
Crossing mountains, deep seas and valleys
Jungles, forests and desert galleys
Travelling through your sleep
Breath out, breath in
Take the experiences and warp your life from within
Travelling forces you to step out of your comfort zone
Experiencing the real world, leaving behind this world’s addiction to phones
False evidence appearing real, fear
Let it come near
Travelling challenges your comprehension of this world
And once you return you’re no longer the same
Friends to call home and remembering names
Travelling broadens your brain, nourishes your spirit, cherishes your physical
And challenges your conception of this world
Leaving nostalgic photos, the world left in the crevices of your god given body.

Loving mother

20/06/1954

Lately, life has not been kind to her
And yet, she never complains
She struggles in silence
And has always a warm and kind smile
Her body has shrunk
Although her mind is brighter than ever
They both dance on a different rhythm
Sometimes she wishes to let go
Who am I to blame her?
Darkness hours, sleepless nights
She keeps going for the ones who love her
No matter what
She still paints the sky in blue.

Anywhere I go

Anywhere I go
There’s a blue sky
And a soft place to land
Anywhere I go
I hear birds singing
And I see colourful flowers
Anywhere I go
Silence is golden
And words are whispered
Anywhere I go
My heart is light
And my body floats
Anywhere I go
There’s love
And hope
Anywhere I go
It’s a new day
Always the beginning
Never the end.

Lost in the woods

Sometimes I’m so afraid of the world
Every tiny little thing can hurt me
Sensitive and scared
Tired and frustrated
I need time
My body is resting
And my words keep silent
In an effervescent mind
Please, don’t wake me up
I’m not ready wet.

Far far away

We are linked
And our souls will never die
We are bonded forever
You may move to another town
Take a plane to a distant land
That won’t change anything
Any mountain is too high
To annihilate our feelings
There are no waters deep enough
To smother our love
We don’t need bridges to be connected
I may read your mind
And you can guess my silence
We are one spirit in two bodies.

Borderline

I feel dizzy
I’m losing control
I cannot feel my legs
And my body is sore

Take a deep breath
Forget about the rest

Can you hear me?
Or am I alone?
Is it just my imagination?
Maybe

Is this a dream?
Or is it really happening?

My head is still here
While my soul is levitating
Your eyes are wide shut
And yet, you can see it perfectly.

On my way to eternity

I walked through the path until the end
Without looking back
I’ve released myself from fears, frustrations and anger
My body is lighter than yesterday
And my soul is already on the other side
Waving me with a teaser smile.

Street art

Art is something absolute, something positive, which gives power just as food gives power. While creative science is a mental food, art is the satisfaction of the soul.

Hans Hofmann

What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity, devoid of troubling or disturbing subject matter, an art which could be for every mental worker, for the businessman was well as the man of letters, for example, a soothing, calming influence on the mind, something like a good armchair which provides relaxation from physical fatigue.

Insomnia

Reprise

My eyes are wide shut whilst my spirit is still awake
I cannot sleep; I’d rather prefer writing
Words are dancing in my head
No purpose on resting
Rimes are growing instead
It’s useless fighting

I hear voices, screams and despair
I see children playing in the park
My imagination takes me everywhere
Pirates, cowboys, trees and birds
I try to reach the old lady lying in the dark
Everything is so real that it hurts

My restless body is in pain
I cannot sleep; I’de rather prefer writing
My brain keeps whispering a refrain
My eyes are wide open but my spirit is snoozing
And when my phone rings in the morning
I just pretend I’m still dreaming.

Wrecked

Reprise

Broken heart
Cracked wings
Helpless soul
Ungrounded feet
Heavy head
Painful body
Restless spirit
Chasing dreams
Fighting demons
Hoping tomorrow
Will be better than today.
